The Age of Kali
I am reading this book currently. Finished more than half. The Kali is not the godess we are familiar with, but its the Kaliyug of Hindu belief and thus translated in English.Dalrymple is a keen observant and his access and frank interview with Rajmata of Gwalior and Laloo Prasad Yadav would not have been possible if he was an Indian. This book of his is also worth reading.
I will update more when I finish reading the book.
Nov. 16 2006 - I finished reading this book. Its very absorbing. His meeting with Anton Balasingham deep in LTTE territory in Northern Sri Lanka, and his meeting in Pakistan with Imran Khan, Benazir Bhutto and his visit to Peshawar and the Northern Frontier of that country are very well written.
